Group Leader, Joint Systems Engineering Group
George Orr leads the Operations Support Division (OSD), which is responsible for five major operational functional areas: Information Technology, Office Services, Professional Development and Training, Security, and Telecommunications. He also is responsible for the Joint Systems Engineering Group, which conducts joint systems engineering and analysis across a number of Department of Defense agencies and services to support the Single Integrated Air Picture Joint Program.
Mr. Orr has more than 45 years of leadership experience in major acquisition programs and business management. This includes 32 years as a Naval Officer in the areas of U.S. Navy nuclear submarine operations, acquisition, maintenance, and construction. He has 12 years of business management in the development, integration, and systems engineering of joint operational systems. He has been with Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. since 1996.
Mr. Orr holds degrees in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh, and Applied Mathematics in Acoustics from the Naval Postgraduate School. He has certificates of completion in Acquisition of Major Weapons Systems from Defense Acquisition University, and The Executive Management Program from The Darden School, University of Virginia.
